A Warm, Untapped Area For SaaS Products

Surely we’re in the early stages of this industry called “influencer marketing”. It’s far from maturity and, in fact, it’s probably not even a baby yet.

At the same time, influencers have existed for longer than we’ve been alive. Jesus was one of the greatest influencers of all time — I’m not religious so don’t take it like that.

Objectively speaking, the character of Jesus influenced a lot of people, since Christianity is the #1 religion in the world, based on the number of … followers.

It is possible that the influencer marketing wave could be just a fad. However, thinking how different ingredients come into play, such as:

  1. People’s awareness for privacy on their social media platform
  2. Banner blindness
  3. Aversion against any kind of ad in general…

… and many others, it looks to me like influencer marketing is not going to go away — rather keep on growing.

That leads to one thing: we will have influencers in the SaaS industry. There are some even today, but because there’s so few of them, they don’t call themselves that.

When a new genre of music is invented, the first 3 people don’t call themselves “pop artists”. It’s only after there are many more people into that genre that they start calling themselves pop artists.

For the first 3 or 10, it’s just … “not a thing yet”.

The same situation applies to today’s SaaS influencers. But hey, all I’m saying in fact is that every micro-industry will have influencers.

Yes, there will even be shoelacing influencers, since I guess some people are obsessed (in a good way) about lacing shoes.

Why is that relevant to us today? Because they will need SaaS products to automate their activities?
