What Good Business Means In The SaaS Industry

Good business means both parts win. It is a form of barter: I give you this, you give me that. Both of us are better.

“Scam” means it looks like it’s good business — but eventually one party finds out it’s not.

Perfect business means we both keep on winning because we keep on dealing with each other. I keep on giving you this, you keep on giving me that and we’re both better because of it.

It’s 2019, we’ve spent thousands of years developing into groups, countries, societies etc. and we sometimes forget that it’s about helping each achieve more.

If growth has been stagnant lately, it’s 90% about that: people need to do more with what you offer them. It means we’ve been too much into “selling mode” and too little into developing what we’re offering.

It means we need to work on the gold core, not so much on the glitter. I know, switching gears is a bit difficult.

In SaaS, people usually pay monthly because they’re using a part of the bandwidth your software produces. They use your SaaS so as to enable themselves to do something better: code, social media marketing, design etc.

Let’s make sure:

  1. We identify what they do better with your product. More often than not, we find out that it’s actually something else that we’ve initially planned that people do with our product — some who have analyzed the data found that out
  2. Every 6 months what people can do (or they’re enabled to do) with your software is increased
