When is something worth telling people about?

This is a short one for a Sunday. The answer: when it makes you feel something.

Could be bad, could be good, amazing, “the worst thing in my life”, valuable, marvellous, it could “suck” but it’s never boring. At most, if someone talks about something boring, they just mention it and that’s it.

At large scale, polarising people receive attention and run a business out of that.

At tech companies scale, they bring value and if they create an experience for someone, that’s the extra kick. Let me draw this parallel from another industry: flight attendants for 5-star service.

Of course, you get used to it but the first time you’ve had the 5 star service it made you feel something. And usually it gets people talking. We’re analysing a case that’s been refined over time due to its age.

But the impact a little bit of caring goes a long way for a tech company, Mr/Mrs CEO. Please tell yourself 10 features on a user’s journey that makes him/her feel something and know that you care.

About Ch Daniel

I run chagency, an experiences design agency that specialises on helping tech CEOs reduce user churn. We believe experiences are not only the reason why users choose not to leave but also what generates word of mouth. We’re building a credo around this belief.

I’ve also created an infinitely-valuable app for sneaker/fashion enthusiasts called Legit Check that impacted hundreds of thousands over millions of times – check it out at chdaniel.com/app
