SaaS Companies Reducing User Churn — The Fundamental Rule

I don’t know the exact quote but it goes something like “If you want to change the world, start with one person”.

And we don’t have to know it. That’s life advice.

When tackling user churn? It doesn’t sound as philosophical (and it doesn’t have to) — but more often than not it starts with one user.

The only thing is, it doesn’t stop there. Or after 10. It’s an ongoing process that has to go deep.

A/B testing, cohort analysis or UX are terms that might sound fancy to those who don’t know them.

Here’s something that doesn’t sound fancy, is not fancy, but works: if you want to reduce user churn, start with one user.

And go as deep as possible. After 100 discussions you may stop. Or when you’ve noticed a pattern. Whichever comes first.
